LLC Service Pricing › EIN without an SSN
How to get an EIN without an SSN
With Mainstay Filing it is a one-time $99 when you have no SSN or ITIN, and it files the application on Form SS-4 by fax. If you do have an SSN or ITIN there is no extra charge: the EIN application is part of the $199 package.
What happens
- The IRS charges nothing for an EIN. The online form asks for an SSN or ITIN, so without one the paper Form SS-4 is the route.
- Your formation is filed first; the EIN application follows once the company exists.
- The IRS sets the timing for faxed applications. Plan for delay and check the IRS instructions for Form SS-4 for current numbers.
What to ask any provider
Whether the EIN is included or extra for a founder with no SSN or ITIN, and whether that price is in the package. We did not record other providers’ charges for this case, so we show none; ask before you buy.
